Dr. Muhtar is a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering, the University of MuhammadiyahJember Indonesia from 1997 until now. A doctorate was obtained in the Civil Engineering Doctoral Program with an interest in Structural Engineering at UniversitasBrawijaya Malang, Indonesia. Other experience is in the field of Consulting Services and Construction Services since graduating from Senior High School or STM. Research topics include concrete technology, renewable construction materials, structural engineering, and earthquake-resistant construction.

  • Enhancing bamboo reinforcement using a hose-clamp to increase bond-stress and slip resistance
  • The stiffness and cracked pattern of bamboo reinforced concrete beams using a hose clamp.
  • The flexural behavior model of bamboo reinforced concrete beams using a hose clamp.
  • Bond-slip improvement of bamboo reinforcement in the concrete beam using hose clamps

His main research interests center on materials and construction technology, including concrete technology, composite materials, renewable materials such as bamboo, in the attention in response to global warming issues and sustainable society, and simple earthquake-resistant home construction for earthquake-prone areas.
