Pramen P. Shrestha is a Professor of Construction Engineering Management and Graduate Coordinator in Civil & Environmental Engineering and Construction department at University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV). He holds a M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from University of Texas at Austin, United States (US). He completed his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, India. He has about 10 years of professional experience in design and construction of highway and infrastructure projects in Nepal before moving to US. After completing his PhD in Civil Engineering from University of Texas at Austin in 2007, he joined UNLV as an Assistant Professor.
He has received federal, state, and private research grants worth about US$2.3 million. His research grants are funded by the US State Departments of Transportation, Transportation Research Board, National Science Foundation, US Labor Department, Water Design Build Council (WDBC), and private agencies. He has graduated five PhD and 33 master’s students as an advisor. He currently has three PhD students and five master’s students working for him on various projects. He has published more than 45 peer-reviewed papers in prestigious journals and 75 conference proceedings.
